Vicent and Brown Update

 

Vicent and Brown are orphaned refugee brothers from the Congo now living in the city of Kigali, Rwanda.  Samuel, also a refugee, who is now living in Philadelphia met the brothers in a refugee camp. Upon leaving for the U.S. Samuel promised them that when he could he would help them.  Upon hearing their story a group of us from St. Mary’s Episcopal Church created what is now the Vicent and Brown Fund. Three years later we continue to be amazed at what this fund has been able to do for these two orphaned boys.

Over the past three years the Vicent and Brown Fund has paid for tuition, transportation to and from school, uniforms,  housing and provided for their basic needs. Vicent was due to graduate last year but because of covid graduation has been postponed a year. Brown will graduate next year. Just a few short years ago an education was unattainable and a roof over their heads was a dream but because of the generosity of those who contributed the boys have been given a chance to thrive!
