Dr. Gordon Turk leads the musical ministry at St. Mary's Episcopal Church through his artistry at the organ and the magisterial sound of our volunteer choir supported by professional singers as well as various orchestral instruments on special occassions.
Interested new choir members are always welcome, rehearsals are Wednesday at 7pm in the Fr. Greene Room, drop in to see if you enjoy it! All are welcome to speak with Gordon about joining, you can find him after church at services or reach out to him via email.

Healing Ministry
Most Thursdays at Noon, we have a Healing Eucharist Service which includes the laying of hands and anointing with oil if desired.

We recently commissioned four lay persons as Healing Ministers within our church. One is available after the Eucharist (communion) almost every Sunday during the 10am service in the Lady Chapel (North Transcept of the Sanctuary) for laying of hands and anointing with oil if desired.

To find out more about our Healing Ministry please reach out to Fr Conor Alexander

It takes a village to fill the various roles within our liturgy. From welcoming newcomers to assuring the comfort and safety of all congregants, from assisting with the processions and rituals of the Eucharist to manning the Livestream console, from sharing the words of scripture to leading us in the prayers of the people ... the lay ministry of ushers, acolytes, livestream and readers are among the many avenues to serve at St. Mary's.

Please speak with Fr. Conor if you are interested in learning about serving in any of these ministries.

The caretakers and keepers of the physical components, vestments, vessels and furniture used on the Altar every Sunday. A tireless rotation of volunteers maintain and prepare everything required for the proper presentation and celebration of an Episcopal Eucharist liturgy.
We would gladly welcome new members, female or male to the Altar Guild. Please get in touch with Mary Dixon to find out more!

Adult Education sessions are currently held most Sundays at 9am in the Navajo Room. Topics are wide ranging and published every week in the eChimes and Service Bulletin. This ministry is often led by laypersons, a guest speaker or the rector.

Monday morning Bible study meets on Zoom at 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
As the church moves in new directions, this is an ideal time to commit yourself to closer acquaintance with the Bible. We offer a discussion class in which all can participate, or you can just drop in to listen. Come when you can and always be assured of a warm welcome. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Erlis Wickersham.

Held during the 10am service, usually led by Edith Helms our Children's chaplain. All are welcome to Children's Chapel, although there is a focus on children. Please follow the Cross during the singing of the Sequence Hymn which is before the Gospel. For roughly half an hour we joyfully learn about and praise our Creator and Savior through songs, games, stories and art. We return, again following the Cross, in time for Communion.

Weekly summations of the topics to be covered in Chapel are published in eChimes.
For more information reach out to Edith Helms
The Noah's Ark Thrift store located on the lower floor of our Sanctuary, is a mainstay in our community. The connections we make with our neighbors who walk through our Little Red Door will last a lifetime.
Donations come in from a variety of local townships and the proceeds are donated to other outreach ministries in our community. Twice a year the store is emptied of items which have not sold and are either donated to local charities or shipped overseas.

Open seasonally on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am-1pm, we regularly post new photos of our store offerings on our store page and on our Google Maps listing. (Be sure to leave us a review if you like your experience!)

A form of service ministry for the church, the parish and all community partners which use the property & grounds in their ministries and offerings, the Buildings and Grounds Commission is comprised of volunteers led by Fr. Conor partnering with a vestry liaison for larger decisions. Self-performed projects are often on the menu at Buildings & Grounds meetings if any willing and able parishioners have an appetite for volunteer improvement projects!

For volunteers wishing to help with gardening & grounds please contact Laurie Buechle or Louisa Ridgeway

We meet every First Thursday of the month at 6:30pm in the Navajo Room, all welcome to observe.
Outreach Ministry
At St. Mary's our Outreach Ministry is a volunteer led organized effort to extend a hand of support and assistance to those in need, both materially and spiritually, within our local community of Wayne and beyond, mainly by performing acts of compassion and service. From our Little Free Pantry, to volunteering with Homeworks, from mission trips to Peru to Refugee Assistance Programs the good people of St. Mary's enjoy helping out near and far.

The Women of St. Mary's sponsored a Harvest Fall Food Fest this year and what an occasion it was! The Merry Men made yummy funnel cakes and brats outdoors, while indoors there were new and interesting foods to try. There were soup ingredients in a jar, overnight oatmeal in jars, and cookie mixes, too. We found pesto and pickles, relishes and jams, some of them perennial favorites. Erlis and Ellen entertained us with piano duets! There were hot and cold drinks and mountains of desserts. We are sorry if you missed this extravaganza—and hope you were able to take home a prepared casserole for dinner! Thank you everyone that joined us!

To learn more about this year coming Fall Food Fest or the Women of St. Mary's please reach out to Linda Noll or Beth Tyson.
On most First Sundays of the month, The Merry Men of St. Mary's host a Sunday Breakfast for all parishioners starting at 8:30 am until 9:45 am. From fluffy pancakes to home-baked bread the hospitality and camaraderie runs high on these mornings we all look forward to!

If you'd like to volunteer to help serve or learn more about the Merry Men of St. Mary's please reach out to Neal Fulton or Scott Scheidt.
