Rossini Concert Artist Preview: Dr. Gordon Turk Organist/Director

A critically acclaimed concert organist, Gordon Turk has performed throughout the US, Europe, Russia, Ukraine and Japan. He has performed in churches, cathedrals, universities, and concert halls throughout the US and abroad, including Carnegie Hall, Verizon Hall, and the legendary Bolshoi Philharmonic, St. Petersburg, Russia.

He has made television appearances in concert both in the US and abroad and has played live concert broadcasts for National Public Radio. He has conducted master classes for universities in the US and Europe, and also for national conventions of the American Guild of Organists.

A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, and the Manhattan School of Music, where he

studied organ and harpsichord, he has been awarded prizes for performances of the music of Bach and also in national improvisation competitions.

Dr. Turk is Auditorium Organist and Artist in Residence of the historic Ocean Grove Auditorium, NJ which houses one of the largest pipe organs of the world, and he is also Artistic Director of the Summer Stars Chamber Music Festival, presented in the exceptional acoustical ambience of the auditorium. He is also Organist & Choirmaster of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Wayne, PA, where he directs professional and volunteer singers in a broad spectrum of liturgical choral music.
